POLO CHOOSES ADT FOR COMPLETE UPGRADE OF MERCHANDISE PROTECTION SYSTEMS FROM RF TO AM
ADT, Europe’s leading provider of electronic fire and security solutions, has been chosen by POLO Expressversand GmbH, one of the leading suppliers of motorcycle clothing, accessories and technology, to upgrade its security systems. ADT is to equip POLO’s 92 stores with cutting-edge Sensormatic® electronic article surveillance (EAS) anti-theft systems, which are based on Ultra•Max® acousto-magnetic (AM) technology.
The upgrade means POLO is implementing a complete change from radio frequency (RF) to AM technology in all of its stores. This upgrade was essential as the previous RF anti-theft system did not meet the required detection rate.
In the future, security tags will be applied to POLO’s products during manufacture, a process known as source tagging. The AM tags are smaller and more flexible than RF tags, which makes them ideal for source tagging, and this will help to improve efficiency as the merchandise will arrive at the point of sale ready to be sold.
POLO has relied on ADT’s intruder alarm systems for many years and is now extending this trust to its merchandise protection with Ultra•Max® AM technology. ADT is also supplying POLO with a Sensormatic® Smart•People counting solution to capture information on customer traffic patterns, with the ability to link with and provide analysis for every branch.
ADT offers a complete suite of electronic security and operational tools for retailers around the world and serves 9 of the top 10 global retailers.
