Software solutions improve operational efficiency and fight internal fraud

ADT Fire & Security, the largest supplier of electronic fire and security solutions in Europe, will be providing the Dutch franchise affiliates (VAB) of HEMA with Sensormatic Analytics®. In doing this HEMA VAB will be the first European retailer to implement the advanced Sensormatic software in order to reduce internal fraud and to further increase efficiency on the shop floor. From January, the software platform will be installed in at least 170 HEMA outlets in the Netherlands.

Business Intelligence within the retail sector is becoming increasingly more important. With Sensormatic Analytics®  the HEMA franchise organisation will have at its disposal a platform which will flag up, through benchmarking and trends, the occurrence of noteworthy events (such as empty packaging or detached tags on the shop floor, sweethearting and credit card fraud at the cash registers but also the flow of customers). By doing this Sensormatic Analytics® assists companies in reducing internal fraud at the tills, increases the added value of EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) and thus positively influences the company’s accounts.

By purchasing Sensormatic Analytics® HEMA VAB has achieved a European first. “Sensormatic Analytics® is the ideal management tool to gather information concerning financial matters, operational matters and losses and thus counter and prevent internal theft and fraud,” explained the Board of HEMA VAB concerning the choice of Analytics.  “Vitally, the software platform can be connected to other related Business Intelligence solutions such as customer counter systems and Sensormatic SmartEAS®. Taking into account our previous experience with the solutions offered by ADT Fire & Security and Sensormatic we have a great deal of trust in the new platform.”
