TYCO FIRE & SECURITY ANNOUNCES ITS MEMBERSHIP
IN THE MICROSOFT CERTIFIED PARTNER PROGRAM
Membership Will Add Technical Support and Other Resources
for the Design and Manufacture of Network-Based RFID Systems for the Retail
Supply Chain
BOCA RATON, Fla. – Sept.15, 2003 – Tyco Fire &
Security, a major business segment of Tyco International Ltd., today announced
that its radio frequency identification (RFID) development group is a new member
in the Microsoft Certified Partner Program. The certification resulted from
proven competence on the latest Microsoft technologies by the product group
responsible for Sensormatic SensorID™ networked-based RFID systems for
tracking goods along the entire retail supply chain.
“As a member of the Certified Partner program, we will have early access
to product information and specialized support services, so that when our customers
are ready to take advantage of the latest Microsoft technology solution, we
already have the experience we need,” said George Reynolds, vice president
of RFID for Tyco Fire & Security. “This membership will help us stay
ahead of our customer’s needs and bring advanced products to market more
quickly.”
The Microsoft Certified Partner Program allows Tyco Fire & Security to
utilize the Microsoft Certified Partner logo, which is an easy way for customers
to recognize Tyco as certified by Microsoft Corp. Microsoft offers a variety
of resources to program members, including training, technical support, early
access to Microsoft products and peer-networking opportunities that allow a
variety of partners to come together and provide end-to-end customer solutions.
The RFID development group joins other Microsoft Certified Partners at Tyco
Fire & Security, including Software House, a leading provider of access
control.
“When customers are looking to implement a Microsoft technology solution
for their business, their best bet is to turn to an expert – a Microsoft
Certified Partner,” said Rosa Garcia, general manager of the Partner Program
Groups at Microsoft. “Microsoft provides its Certified Partners with in-depth
access to existing and emerging Microsoft technologies and related training
and resources to help ensure that they have the technical intimacy needed to
deliver quality solutions. Today, Microsoft recognizes Tyco Fire & Security
for demonstrating this level of expertise and welcomes it as a new Microsoft
Certified Partner.”
