Hot topics at the Revo Manchester conference 2018

Retail property trade association Revo is calling on the sector to address the ‘structural earthquake’ that is affecting British retail. It’s agenda at Revo Manchester this year (a conference and exhibition running from 18th to 20th September 2018) will certainly give experts and stakeholders an opportunity to debate and gather insights into what the future holds for British — and global — shopping centres.

ShopperTrak will be in attendance to do just that. We’re interested in learning about the latest shopping centre trends, and understanding what’s impacting shopper traffic into malls right now. Our view is that the more data insight property owners and their tenants have about consumer behaviour, the clearer everyone can be on preparing for the future, and giving shoppers what they want, where they want it.

The move towards more dynamic, mixed-use destinations

It’s clear that the relationship between retail, residential, office space and leisure is evolving, and this is a central theme of the much-anticipated Revo event. Shopping centres and malls are re-purposing and transforming to deliver formats and experiences that are relevant, vibrant and engaging to customers and wider communities. Retailers and property owners are seizing on technology and data insight to move with the times and align with changing consumer behaviour.

Must-see sessions at Revo Manchester

These topics from the Revo Manchester conference agenda caught our eye:

  • The future of leisure and shopping: From cinema, to bowling, adventure golf and children’s play.
  • Northern Powerhouse: On the eh-up? The real issues affecting the future of our towns and cities.
  • Futureproofing: What does adaptation and flexibility for commercial real estate really look like in the 21st century?
  • Are shops killing the high street? Retail re-imagined: The emergence of dynamic mixed-use destinations.
  • Retail therapy: The correlation between place, health and wellbeing
  • #futureofretail Think global: The UK is the world’s most advanced retail and leisure market. Or is it?
  • Investment – Follow the money: How do retail property classifications impact investor attitudes and decisions?
  • I can’t tech-no satisfaction: Turning today’s customers into tomorrow’s fans.

Must-see sessions at Revo Manchester

Space planning, retail asset optimisation, rent sustainability and leasing strategy are all areas where ShopperTrak data analytics can assist mall owners, as our recent European Malls report has outlined. We’re looking forward to networking with industry colleagues at Revo Manchester and striking up some great conversations about planning for long-term profitability in the retail property market.

Revo Manchester 2018 is taking place at the Manchester Central Convention Complex, 18th to 20th September.
