Enabling Wireless Connectivity of EAS Devices
The Wireless Device Manager seamlessly aggregates data and provides synchronization of Sensormatic EAS devices. It aggregates, stores and securely transmits critical data — such as EAS alarm events, device health statuses, jammer detects and people counts — over any TCP/IP network at scheduled intervals. This data is then delivered to a variety of reporting platforms, including Sensormatic Shrink Management as a Service. This provides the retailer with new analytics and visbility into EAS equipment health status for a more proactive loss prevention program.
In addition, each Wireless Device Manager manages up to 64 devices (32 wireless and 32 wired) within a single retail environment. The Wireless Module connects Sensormatic EAS devices to the Wireless Device Manager. The Wireless Device Manger collects and stores data locally for up to 30 days for optimal data use.
To optimize EAS performance, the Wireless Device Manger synchronizes connected EAS deactivation and detection devices to help the retailer minimize failed deactivation at the point- of-sale, and reduce false alarms at the exit.
The Wireless Device Manager can be configured with the optional wall- mounted Android tablet. This convenient device allows authorized store employees to enter a reason for actual alarm events and capture customer receipt data for false alarms. This helps quickly identify equipment issues, assess source tagging compliance and improve store operations.
